Liberators: Artillery[]

In the European Theatre of World War 2, which houses the Liberators’ battlefield, the methods employed for manipulation of weaponry and soldiers differed greatly among the different combatants. One of the most fundamental distinctions was the tactical usage of artillery. Generals made us of maps and timing, as per traditional warfare, but employed the varying usages of mathematics and theory. The British, for instance, when presented with marked grids, treated the battlefield like an infinite flat plane when calculating how to aim and fire, while the Americans made use of complex mathematics and even incorporated meteorology before deploying their artillery units.

Artillery are a great supplement to classical infantry. They soften the enemy before battle and add to the overall firepower of your deadly army. Bulky, fairly immobile, and designed to breach fortifications in its early days, artillery evolved through the years to become lighter and self-propelled, making it possible to bring it into the battlefield. Its incredible versatility makes it one of the most important long-distance units.

A wise commander should have at least one artillery unit among their troops and make sure it's positioned in the rear tiles, behind their tanks and their infantry so that it has enough distance ahead to be effective. Give Aleda Lutz a shot. You won’t be disappointed.
